OMEN Guitarist Apologizes For Mexican Festival Cancellation

March 7, 2007

OMEN founder/guitarist Kenny Powell has issued the following statement regarding the band's non-appearance at Mexico's Full Metal Festival last weekend:

"OMEN would like to apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused to the fans trying to attend the Full Metal Fest in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday, March 3rd.

"We arrived at the airport in Dallas, Friday March 2nd, only to be informed that our tickets were reserved but no yet paid for. We spent the majority of the day waiting at the airport because we were told that our reserved tickets would in fact be paid for and that we would catch a later flight. We made every attempt possible to make the show and by early evening we were told that the entire festival was cancelled.

"OMEN never wishes to let our fans down and do everything in our power to ensure that every concert is 100% legitimate. We had no reason to believe otherwise, regarding the Full Metal Fest in Mexico. We were sincerely looking forward to playing Mexico for the first time and we're looking for another promoter in hopes of having a concert there in the near future."

OMEN is currently working on its new CD, "Hammer Damage", to be released later in the year.

As previously reported, a video clip OMEN performing the song "Death Rider" live at the Boricua Metal Fest III in Cayey, Puerto Rico on November 11, 2006 has been posted online at YouTube.com.

OMEN's current lineup consists of founding member Kenny Powell (guitar) along with PHANTOM-X members Kevin Goocher (vocals),Danny White (drums) and Glenn Malicki (bass). Plans also exist for the group to release a new live CD featuring live recordings from the "Eternal Black Dawn" lineup, as well as bonus live tracks from 1986 featuring the original lineup (with original vocalist, JD Kimball, who passed away in 2003).

OMEN's last studio album, "Eternal Black Dawn", came out in 2003 via Mausoleum Records.
